The Importance of One Another

Watch this Video: Paul White expresses the value of community, communion and fellowship with other believers (and not in the church – we are the church.)

“We think that the commandment of the old testament was to love one another – the way He loves us.  The reality is that the Old Testament says to love one another the way you love yourself … that hadn’t been working very well.  So Jesus come along and says here’s a new one. I want you to love each other the way I love you.

In other words you’re going to need a piece of information before you can ever love your neighbor.  What is the piece of information you are going to need?  [Answer] How much does He love me? How loved am I?  … This is why we don’t love our neighbor very well. Because most people in the church don’t know how loved they are …

If your having trouble loving your neighbor, it’s not because your neighbor is so bad. It’s because you don’t understand how loved you are.” – Paul White.

John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Romans 12:16

16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

Romans 13:8

Love Your Neighbor

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 14:3

Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.

Romans 15:5

Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,

Galatians 5:13

13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
