Watch this Video: Paul White unpacks the message Christ came to bring to the earth – the Kingdom.
“If you see someone who has joy in the Lord, 100% of the time, that person knows that they are at peace with God. Not 99% of the time, 100% of the time they know they are at peace with God.
When you see someone who knows they are at peace with God, 100% of the time its because they recognize their righteousness as being a product of their faith in Jesus. Not 99% of the time, 100% of the time. Keep that in mind.
Watch someone come into the new creation reality and their full of joy, and their sooo – its almost infectious, joy. And for those of you that don’t like joyful people, its almost offensive. How joyous they are.
Why? Because they believe they are at peace with God.
Why do we lose the joy not long after we become children of God? (Now I’m not trying to be cynical, but I’ve just been around the block a few times in the church and figured something out.) We don’t attack their joy, but we undermine their peace, by making them feel like there are things you can do that will put you out of favor with God. That undermines their peace. If they lose their peace, the joy is gone.
How do we rob their peace? We’re working backwards – How do we take their peace away? [answer] Make them feel like something they’ve done or failed to do makes them unrighteous.
The moment you feel like you may be unrighteous, there goes your peace. Cause how can you be at peace with God, if you are not right with God? the root of righteousness is ‘Right’.
If I’m not right with God, I can’t be at peace with God.
I’m I’m not at peace with God, I certainly don’t have joy.
Maybe it is cynical, but let me tell you what I’ve learned. We rob new converts of their joy quickly, because we put performance mandates on them to “maintain their salvation.” And what we do is we erode their foundation of righteousness …
- You become the righteousness of God through Christ.
- You recognize that you are at peace with God.
- It brings joy unspeakable, full of glory.
Take out the undergirding of righteousness – start at the beginning- get rid of rightousness. Make people think they may not be righteous, what will happen? (I might not be righteous. God might be mad at me.) – No more peace. If there’s no more peace, how can you be joyful? ” – Paul White
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
The Coming of the Kingdom
20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
